BIO

Dana Hicks is a pastor, professor, and writer who lives in Boise, Idaho. He is the Lead Pastor of a new church in Boise called - CrossPoint: A Movement for Compassion, Justice, Faith, and Worship.  He also serves at Northwest Nazarene University in the School of Theology and Christian Ministries as an adjunct Professor of Missional Leadership.

He is a contributor to over five books and numerous articles that mostly revolve around the themes of culture,change, evangelism, church planting, and mission. 

Dana was born in Southern California but grew up in a small town in Western Oregon called McMinnville. 

Dana received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho (1988), the Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary(Cum Laude) in Kansas City, Missouri (1993), and the Doctor of Ministry degree from the Beeson Pastor Doctoral Fellowship at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky (2008). His dissertation title was, Church Culture and Evangelistic Effectiveness. He has also done post-doctoral studies at Asbury Theological Seminary in Church Planting for the 21st Century.

Dana is the President of a small NGO that does economic development, pastoral training, and orphan care in the developing world called, GateOneSeventeen.  Africa, and in particular the countries of Rwanda, Burundi, and The Congo, have a special place in his heart.

Dana is married to Serena. They have five kids between them that they juggle in a Brady Bunch like fashion plus a Miniature Australian Shepherd named Quincy.
