A Proposal for a Rubric that We Can Really Use
The advantage of being married to someone who thinks day and night about educational instruction is that you pick up a few things along the way. For example, it is unfair to a student (or anyone for that matter) to grade them without a clear understanding of what one’s instructional targets are. In my own modest teaching efforts, I have learned the beauty and elegance of the grading rubric. The grading rubric is a tool to clearly define expectations.
In that spirit and in an attempt to clarify with some on Facebook who don’t seem to “get it”, I offer to you this modest proposal of a grading rubric for all Facebook posts.
(Please note that this is meant to be tongue-in-cheek and not a personal attack on anyone in particular).
