New Pew Research on Church Attendance

This article from The Atlantic is a fascinating look at the current trends in US church attendance.  Contrary to poplular belief - while church attendance for some is on the decline, for others (half of those who DO attend) the amount they attend is going up.

On the other side, for a growing number the logistics of getting to church is problematic. Which seems to indicate to me a growing lack of enthusiam for church. IE - lack of relevance? Or, simply over-committed lives.

Also interesting was the new ethos of not needing to go to church every week to be "committed."

Overall, the research was much more positive that I thought it would be.
